The clouds are rolling in
Though I can still see the sun on the horizon
Life is like a dream
That’s turned into a nightmare
Seeing things through a haze
Trying to forget
Memories of times gone by
Trying to relive the good
And forget the bad
But I’m destroying myself
Trying in vain to be happy
Short moments of ecstasy
Are they worth the price?
Or is it all just vice
Is it sad
That this is how I cope?
Can you blame me?
Imprison me
When my mind is already one
But I’m not alone
It’s why we commune
In smoke filled rooms
We see things for how they are
Primal fears
Primal urges
Primal desires
Free flowing thoughts
But is it worth it?
When the black clouds come rolling in
And they’re here to stay
These storm clouds over my heart
My soul
My life
Are here to stay
Poem about how things we turn to to cope only hurt us in the end.

Actually inspired by looking out my window and seeing everything all sunny and warm outside and then seeing ominous looking black clouds on the horizon that just blew in fast and turned everything dark and cold...made me reflective.
